About Avon, MA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Avon, Massachusetts is a prestigious community located in Plymouth County. It is situated approximately 20 miles south of Boston, and many Avon residents commute into the city via the MBTA. The Avon Industrial Park also employs over 3,600 people at more than 120 firms, and due to the community’s current policy regarding suburban character preservation, there are no new housing development opportunities. Neighboring communities include Holbrook, Randolph, and Brockton.

As a fairly small community that is mostly residential in nature, there aren’t many notable attractions found here. There are several large stores, including Wal-Mart Supercenter, Costco, and Jordan’s Furniture, and smaller specialty shops include Sleepy’s and Nickate’s Art Glass. Avon residents who are hoping to get a new and updated look might also like to visit Permanent Make-Up by Edda Garcia or Angel’s Heavenly Hair Design and Day Spa.

Although there are few attractions located in the community, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy the great outdoors if you are willing to work with the weather. The summer months are some of the most popular times to visit the area, as conditions tend to be warm to hot. In July, high temperatures usually reach the low-80s, although high humidity can make it feel even warmer. Severe thunderstorms are also a possibility, and residents will want to invest in an energy efficient air conditioning system in order to stay cool regardless of what the weather is like outdoors.

During the winter season, residents will experience a few cold months. While average high temperatures during the day might reach the mid-30s, overnight lows tend to fall into the teens. When precipitation pushes into the area, these freezing conditions can cause dangerous driving conditions, and pipes and plumbing could be at risk of freezing. This could lead to an expensive repair bill if you don’t have the right furnace or heat pump at home to keep interior conditions at an appropriate temperature.
